Assam CM: Gaining Local Language Proficiency is a Must for Govt Jobs

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated on Saturday that applicants for public employment must be familiar with the state’s native tongue.

He remarked this as he gave 325 candidates appointment letters at Sankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati.

CM Sarma stated that everyone must be fluent in the local language in order to obtain government employment.

However, he further said, “Everyone must also know Hindi and English.”

He explained that understanding these additional languages will be helpful because they will need to communicate in Hindi when the Union Cabinet visits and English when the World Bank does.

As many as 325 candidates in irrigation received their employment letters earlier today.
