8 Bangladeshi nationals deported from Assam’s Karimganj
Guwahati: At least eight Bangladeshi nationals who had illegally entered India were deported to Bangladesh from Karimganj district of Assam on Saturday.
The Bangladeshi nationals including a woman were expelled legally via the Sutarkandi international border crossing.
According to reports, they entered India illegally at various times through various locations in Assam.
The Bangladeshi nationals have been identified as Md. Lal Mia alias Mohammad Lal Mia Kazi, Lal Mia alias Lalan Mia, Mohir Uddin, Mohammad Abdul Motin, Farid Alom alias Akash, Atabur Rahman, Faima Begum alias Faima and Md. Rahim Mia alias Firdaus.
Border Branch’s Sub-Inspector said, “Today, we deported 8 Bangladeshi nationals to Bangladesh. After entering India without proper documentation, they were detained at various locations throughout the state. Five of the eight Bangladeshi nationals were detained in the Karimganj, one in the Cachar, and two in the Kamrup districts.”
