Arunachal: APPSC Suspends 3 Officers

Guwahati: At least three Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) officers have been placed on administrative leave in the APPSC paper leak case.

According to article 371H of the Indian Constitution, three officers of the APPSC office—Bate Koyi, Deputy Secretary (Establishment), Joram Nagu, Under Secretary (Establishment), and Debhasish Dey, Private Secretary—have been placed on administrative leave.

Nima Tondrang, joint secretary (Establishment) and Swaroop Bhattacharjee, a private assistant were the first two officials to be suspended on October 29 in connection with the APPSC paper leak issue, according to APPSC officials.

The chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu had earlier met with governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra and submitted the state cabinet’s recommendation regarding the APPSC paper leak case and the constitutional provisions under Article 317 that allow for the dismissal and suspension of APPSC employees.

According to reports, the CBI team communicated with the state police and the special investigation cell (SIC) to know the latest information regarding the APPSC job scam.

Although the accused Akhilesh has been given bail, Anand Mittal, SP, SIC told the media that he will cooperate with the inquiry if he is brought in for questioning.

All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) and All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) announced a 12-hour protest on November 2 in response to the authorities’ lackadaisical handling of the APPSC debacle during a news conference.
