Guwahati: At least 4 people were killed and 18 others injured when a petrol tanker caught fire and exploded in Mizoram’s Aizawl district on Saturday evening.
The incident took place in Tuirial village which is located about 18 kilometres to the east of the state, at around 6pm on Saturday.
As per reports, the tanker was said to be heading toward Champhai.
Following the incident, all injured people were taken to a hospital in Tuirial where they are currently receiving medical care.
Reportedly,two 2-wheelers and a four-wheel taxi were also damaged in the incident.
However, the exact cause of the explosion has not yet been ascertained.
Meanwhile, police investigation has been launched into the incident.
