Guwahati: A child was trapped inside an elevator of a footbridge on Tuesday afternoon in Guwahati.
The child was apparently stuck inside when the elevator in Adabari abruptly stopped functioning.
The 14-year-old was confined within it for over a full hour.
Later, he was rescued when the elevator broke down.
Locals claimed that since the footbridge’s inauguration by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma last year, no maintenance or inspection had been carried out.
Additionally, they claimed that daily events of this nature occur.
