‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ Flagged off in Assam
Guwahati: The Bharat Jodo Yatra was flagged-off on Tuesday in the state’s Dhubri district by the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC).
The campaign which will cover a distance of around 834 km was launched from Golakganj in Dhubri and will conclude in Sadiya in Tinsukia district.
The yatra will cover 13 districts of Assam including Dhubri, Bongaigaon, Barpeta, Nalbari, Kamrup (Rural), Kamrup (Metro), Morigaon, Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh and Tinsukia.
All MPs, MLAs, senior leaders of the APCC, and AICC leaders are participating in the campaign.
APCC President Bhupen Borah stated that during the yatra, “We would reach 13 districts, five parliamentary constituencies, and 60 assembly constituencies in the state.”
Rahul Gandhi began the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which would travel across up to 12 states on September 7.
The campaign will end in Kashmir the following year by covering 25 km every day.
The Congress and the entire nation will look back on the 3,500-kilometer yatra as a momentous occasion. According to a statement from the Congress earlier, it is the longest foot march by a politician in Indian history.
