40 Shinde MLAs Likely to visit Kamakhya Temple
Guwahati: Forty dissident MLAs from the Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena led by chief minister Eknath Shinde would visit Kamakhya temple in Guwahati as a sign of appreciation to the goddess for fulfilling their commitment to create the government.
The chief minister Eknath Shinde announced that the MLAs from his party will now travel to Guwahati with their families and that the trip was scheduled for December.
39 MLAs who defected from Uddhav Thackeray to support Eknath Shinde in June stayed out in a guesthouse in Guwahati for more than a week and visited the Kamakhya temple before leaving for Maharashtra on the day the Shinde-Fadnavis cabinet was confirmed as the majority.
As per reports, after the peaceful establishment of the government the MLAs made a promise to the deity to return for the darshan.
According to a senior Shiv Sena representative quoted, “40 MLAs from Shinde’s Shiv Sena and 10 independents will visit the temple with their families.”
The leader claimed that because of intense pressure the rebel MLAs’ families were unable to travel to Guwahati with the parliamentarians. This time they will visit the temple in Guwahati and the tour is scheduled for December.
Shinde, while speaking to the reporters informally also said that he was planning a tour of Ayodhya in the next few weeks. “Though not in November, we will visit the Ram Temple at Ayodhya along with a few MLAs from our party later sometime,” he said
