CID Raids Residence Of Tainted Cop Utpal Bora
Guwahati: The Assam Police’s Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Wednesday carried out an operation at a rental property owned by corrupt Assam Police official Utpal Bora.
After his arrest yesterday, he was the target of raids on his homes for a second day in a row.
According to reports, CID raided his rented residence at Jyotinagar in Assam’s Mangaldoi, which had been sealed yesterday after his arrest.
Additionally, Utpal Bora’s wife was there when the CID team carried out the operation.
Officials reported that five expensive watches, each worth lakhs, were found during the raid at his Mangaldoi home.
Additionally, they seized the registration papers for high-end foreign-made vehicles.
It should be mentioned that Utpal Bora was the Officer-in-Charge of Dhula Police Station in the Darrang district of Assam.
He was arrested for carelessness during the investigation of a homicide. A special investigative team was led by CID to look into the matter.
The case was investigated after the intervention of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Three police officers had previously been suspended in relation to the incident.
