WhatsApp Introduces Community Features and In-Chat Polls
Guwahati: WhatsApp is now undergoing a few modifications from Meta, including the widespread implementation of Communities that will improve the app’s usability for big groups of users.
The Verge claims that Communities are built to host numerous connected groups within larger groupings of individuals like a neighbourhood or a workplace.
Administrators can update the entire community using an announcements channel which is similar to Slack or Discord but with a WhatsApp twist (including end-to-end encrypted conversations).
According to The Verge, communities were originally tested by the firm in April and are now being made available to everyone.
A handful of the new features that Meta is introducing may improve everyday communications. New in-chat polls may be useful for picking a time for a meeting or a movie to watch.
Video calls can now have up to 32 participants, which could be helpful for a big video call in your new Community. According to The Verge, WhatsApp is also expanding the maximum group size from 512 to 1024 members if you just want to establish a big group.
