AAP Announced Isudan Gadhvi As CM Candidate For Gujarat Polls
Guwahati: Isudan Gadhvi, the party’s national joint general secretary was announced by the Aam Aadmi Party as its candidate for chief minister in the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections on Friday.
Gadhvi also serves on the National Executive of the AAP.
The party made this announcement following a crowdsourcing campaign in which state residents could voice their opinions on a phone number and email address shared by the party until 5 p.m. on November 3.
Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal started the campaign on October 29 by urging the public to choose a candidate for chief minister.
The AAP had held a poll ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections, and Bhagwant Mann had come out on top. Mann eventually rose to the position of state’s chief minister.
The Gujarat Assembly elections will take place on the dates that the Election Commission stated earlier on Thursday.
There will be two separate rounds of voting on December 1 and 5. The counting of votes will take place on December 8, which coincides with that of Himachal Pradesh’s result date.
