New Instructions introduced to Assam Secretariat Employees
Guwahati: A number of new rules have been implemented for the workers of Assam Secretariat in Guwahati including those on a daily, fixed or monthly honorarium.
According to the assembly speaker’s instructions, the directions have been issued to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the assembly.
These are the new orders:
1) All employees must arrive at work promptly at 9:30 am, enter in to the biometric attendance system, and log out only after business hours while leaving the building.
2) Depending on the urgency of the work, employees may be required to undertake tasks outside of their regular working hours.
3) On all working days, all workers are required to report to work wearing only formal clothes. They consist of formal shirt pants, sarees, mekhela chadors, and salwar suits.
4) No casual clothing, like t-shirts, jeans, leggings, etc., will be permitted while working.
5) Any Assamese community’s traditional attire may be worn on Wednesdays as the employee chooses.
6) During assembly sessions and other formal events, all employees, regardless of level, are required to wear office uniforms that the Secretariat will furnish.
Meanwhile, the other added that any employee who disobeys the rules will be subject to harsh punishment.
On the other hand, any employee who does not complete the required number of hours of work would be subject to a penalty from their monthly compensation.
