Railway Police Halts Gold Smuggling Bid in Money Heist Style

Guwahati: A gold smuggling attempt that involved the smuggler breaking the gold into little pieces and attempting to contraband it was thwarted by Railway Police in Guwahati on Tuesday, seemingly in a parody of the hit television series “Money Heist.”

A shipment of gold was reportedly taken from a Rajdhani Express train by the Guwahati Railway Station’s Railway Police, who also detained one person in connection with the incident.

According to officials, the market value of the gold that was taken is estimated to be around Rs 50 lakhs.

Police said that they found the gold ground into tiny pieces and smuggled away in a bag.

The person arrested in the case has been identified as Mohammad Shafi and took him in on charges of smuggling the gold.
