Sunil Gavaskar: “Babar Azam Will Become Pakistan PM in 2048”
Guwahati: Pakistan is set to repeat its historic victory from 1992, when Imran Khan, the captain at the time, pulled victory from the jaws of defeat.
Meanwhile, renowned cricketer Sunil Gavaskar made a humorous statement on Captain Babar Azam prior to Pakistan and England’s last match on November 13.
Gavaskar said that Azam would eventually become the prime minister of Pakistan, if his nation wins the T20 World Cup.
“If Pakistan do win the World Cup, in 2048 Babar Azam will be the PM of Pakistan,” Gavaskar said in an interview with Star Sports.
The remarks by the Indian icon were directed at Khan, who won the 1992 World Cup and later entered politics to become his country’s prime minister.
Pakistan and England will each win the T20 World Cup title on November 13 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
