Sarbananda Sonowal: India’s Ayush Sector to Have USD 23 Billion Market Globally by 2023

Guwahati: Union Ayush Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said on Saturday that the Indian Ayush sector will have a 23 billion USD worldwide market share by 2023.

Speaking at a gathering in Nagpur, Sonowal said: “One of the best practises to come from our extensive, more than 5,000-year-old tradition is ayurveda. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for “Vocal for Local” gave a boost to Indian traditional traditions with a long history of enhancing people’s lives.”

The minister added, “We believe that the India Ayush sector would have a market share of no less than USD 23 billion by 2023 due to the wide acceptance of Ayurveda, along with other traditional medicinal treatments, in the worldwide community.”

Sonowal said that the Ayush Ministry is also launching a number of efforts to help our Ayush industry achieve this goal within the necessary time frame.

The minister continued, “It is crucial that Ayurveda teaching, research, scientific investigation, and dissemination are all carried out using a logical and scientific evaluation approach. I exhort professionals, vaidyas, drug manufacturers, and everyone else involved in the industry to work toward this and towards excellence.”

The Ministry of Ayush is preparing to exhibit its efforts and several successes at the 41st India International Trade Fair at its pavilion in Pragati Maidan of New Delhi between November 14 and November 27. The ministry will promote its programmes centred on the idea of “Ayush for Global Health.”

The centerpiece of this year’s Ayush pavilion is a series of engaging interactive activities where visitors can learn about the advantages of Ayush through projects like “Create Your Own” Ayush products like soap, gel, cream, and goli, as well as games like spice matching and identification.

The Ministry of Ayush has been encouraging business development in the fields of Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy through India’s dynamic startup environment.
