Guwahati: In a horrific case of attempted homicide, a youth was allegedly attacked with a sharp object in broad daylight by another person in Guwahati on Sunday.
The incident occurred in Bamunimaidam area of Guwahati.
According to reports, an assailant attempted to slit a victim’s throat with a razor blade at Bamunimaidam market.
The victim was identified as Jitu Kalita, a resident of North Jyotinagar locality in the city.
Meanwhile, the attacker has been detained by Chandmari Police.
The attacker was identified by authorities as Jitumoni Kalita, a resident of Kushalnagar in Guwahati. Police suspect that the argument between the two led to the murder attempt.
Police informed that the two got into a fight over barely Rs. 50.
Reportedly, persons involved in the incident were drunk.
Meanwhile, the victim has been admitted to a hospital with injuries.
