JPP Will Never Join Cong’s: Jayanta Malla Baruah
Guwahati: Assam cabinet minister Jayanta Malla Baruah said on Sunday said that Jimochhaya People’s Party (JPP) will never form an alliance with the Congress.
Addressing questions on JPP entering into an alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) the minister of public health engineering rubbished Assam Congress President Bhupen Borah.
Jayanta Malla Baruah said, “JPP represents the local people and it will never support Congress. But BJP and JPP get along well. We want JPP to stand with us because the BJP would always oppose parties that speak for native people.”
The cabinet minister attacked the Congress, claiming that their Bharat Jodo Yatra was becoming Bangladeshi Yatra. They are hesitant to conduct yatras near indigenous people. The goal of Congress is to secure every miya vote.
He also targeted the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) saying that it was born out Congress. “The argument between the two parties is merely for drama,” declared Baruah.
He continued discussing the accomplishments of the government by pointing out that it was the BJP who raised the topic of awarding SC status to six tribes of Assam.
