World Bank Team in Nagaland To Support Scientific Farming In The State
Guwahati: The international financial organization, World Bank arrived in Nagaland with a team of 12 person for a five-day visit in an effort to boost scientific farming and combat the consequences of climate change.
According to a senior state government official, the delegation which arrived in Kohima on Sunday met with representatives of the Nagaland government in a number of sessions.
The team met with the technical committee and core committee on Monday to discuss the implementation of the Enhancing Landscape and Ecosystem Management (ELEMENT) project.
The team members discussed the ELEMENT project’s overview, concept, scope, readiness, preparedness, government approvals, justification, economic analysis, DEA readiness filter and timetables.
On the other hand, Agriculture Production Commissioner Y. Kikheto Sema informed the team about the various farming patterns used in the state.
The team will visit the Nagaland Bamboo Mission, Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission and the Organic Market at Chumoukedima before leaving the state on Thursday.
