PETA: Jumbo Joymala Still in Poor Health

Guwahati: The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) released a few shocking details about the current condition of Jumbo Joymala, who is held illegally at a Kerala temple, on Tuesday.

They claimed, “Joymala is chained and trapped in concrete.”

“When the heartbreaking video of the condition of Joymala was revealed in front the country, the authorities showed another video of Joymala playing in a pond. Now there is no water in the pond,” it added.

They said that Joymala is under the threat of and under the control of firearms.

According to PETA’s recent inspection the elephant is in bad health.

It should be noted that a significant uproar occurred in the case following the release of a PETA video documenting Joymala’s cruel treatment in the month of September.

PETA mentioned in the video, “Here, she is being beaten in the sacred sanctum sanctorum of Krishnan Kovil…In 2021, she was tied to a tree and beaten ruthlessly.”

The Tamil Nadu administration, calling the video phoney has denied the allegations. They say Joymala is “definitely doing good.”
