Assam: 6 Dead, 4 Injured In Separate Road Accident In Nalbari
Guwahati: At least five persons were killed and two more were injured in a horrific traffic accident that happened in Assam’s Nalbari district on Wednesday night during Raas celebrations.
According to reports, the tragedy occured while the victims were returning from a Raas festival held at Howly.
Reportedly, they apparently died after the Swift Dezire they were travelling in collided with concrete barriers alongside the national highway in the Bankusi district.
The deceased have been identified as Jahedur Rahman, Ajit Chaliha, Utpal Saloi, Pranab Saloi and the driver of the vehicle, Shankar Das.
Meanwhile, Abhijeet Kalita and Eyazul Rahman have been identified as the injured. Kalita is receiving treatment at a hospital in Nalbari and is in serious condition whereas Rahman was transferred to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH).
The incident took place while they were returning home from Howly Raas Mahotsav.
In a different incident, a woman was killed and two other people suffered severe injuries after their car lost control and hit a highway’s side railing in Ghograpar.
The deceased woman have been identified as Parishmita Kalita .
On the other hand, two additional injured have been identified as Bhaskar Kalita and Sushmita Kalita.
It is learned that the victims were returning to Nalbari from a Raas festival at Palashbari on the ill-fated night.
