Pornography Case: New Chargesheet Filed By Mumbai Police Against Raj Kundra
Guwahati: Businessman and Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra and others have been charged by the Mumbai Cyber Crime in connection with the case of creating and streaming pornographic content.
Last Thursday, the Esplanade court received a chargesheet from the Mumbai Cyber Crime that was over 1000 pages long.
Prashant Patil, an attorney for Kundra, responded to the fresh chargesheet by saying that he learned about it from media sources and that they will follow the law to obtain the chargesheet.
“We have got to know from media reports that The Mumbai Cyber Crime has filed a chargesheet in the said matter before the court. We shall be present before the court to comply with the due process of Law and Collect a copy of the chargesheet,” said Patil.
He added that there is no prima facie evidence against his client and that he has no connection to the alleged crime.
“However, whatever allegations we could understand from the FIR and media reports, it can be safely concluded that my client has nothing to do with the said crime. There is no prima facie case made out against him. We shall follow the due process of Law and ensure that he gets justice,” he said.
He further said that Raj Kundra has a right to be heard and he will go to court to seek justice, preserve his name, and uphold his dignity.
Raj Kundra was arrested by law enforcement for more than two months on allegations relating to the suspected production of pornographic videos last July 19, along with 11 other people.
Raj Kundra was granted bail in the pornographic case on September 20 of last year by a Mumbai court in exchange for a Rs 50,000 guarantee.
He was charged with violating pertinent provisions of the Information Technology Act, the Indecent Representation of Women (Prevention Act), and the Indian Penal Code.
Kundra was accused of making and disseminating pornographic movies using the subscriber-supported mobile app “Hotshots.”
On the other hand, Kundra has denied all of the accusations made against him and claimed that he has been wrongfully implicated.
