Cab Services Will Remain Suspended In Guwahati For 24 hours
Guwahati: India’s two biggest app-based aggregator cab services, Uber-Ola, taxi services would continue to be suspended in Guwahati.
All Assam Cab Operators Union called for a 24-Hour Shutdown of the Cab Services today, November 22, for 24 hours.
The All Assam Cab Mazdoor Sangh has supported the decision.
According to reports, All Assam Cab Operators Union president Bishnu Das said that the shutdown has been ordered in light of the ride-hailing companies’ decision to freeze the accounts of drivers. He also demanded an end to the long-standing exploitation of drivers.
Reportedly, the All Assam Cab Operators Union has also charged the businesses with taking a substantial portion of the drivers’ wages as commission.
According to the union, the problem with Ola, Uber, and taxi drivers has not been resolved, and even the state’s transport department has not taken any action to help the drivers.
