Guwahati: In a tragic incident, at least ten people were killed and nine were injured in a fire at a residential building Thursday night in Urumqi, capital of northwest China‘s Xinjiang province, local authorities said.
The fire started at around 7:49 p.m. in a high-rise residential structure in a community of Urumqi’s Tianshan District. The agency also stated that it was released at approximately 10:35 pm, the agency added.
Ten people perished despite receiving emergency care. Nine more people have injuries that are not life-threatening.
Investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
