Assam: Over 100 Passengers On Ferry Left Stranded In Majuli

Guwahati: Passengers travelling in a ferry from Nimati ghat to Kamalabari were stranded in the middle of the Brahmaputra River near Majuli on Saturday.

According to reports, the ferry, carrying passengers along with numerous vehicles has been left stranded.

There are over a hundred passengers and several vehicles on the ferry.

Reportedly, the ferry departed from its location at 12 noon and currently stands stranded in the middle of the river.

The Inland Water Transport Department has arranged another ferry to rescue the passengers. 

Meanwhile, the reason behind the incident is not clear yet.
