MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan To Attend Sangai Festival In Manipur
Guwahati: The chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhanwill visits the Sangai Festival in Manipur on Sunday, said a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
The largest tourism festival in Manipur is called Sangai Festival. Under the “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” project, Manipur and Madhya Pradesh are partner states.
The chief guest of the festival is chief minister Shivraj Chouhan.
The Sangai Festival will feature Madhya Pradeshi traditional dances. The traditional dances of Manipur will be performed by the Maring tribe, the Vaiphai tribe, the Mao tribe Naurata dance, and Thai dance troupes, according to the Navodit Art Institute of Madhya Pradesh.
There will be performances of Apumba Inat Sindam Shanglen by Sugnu Laibau Jagoi and Badhaai Dance by Sagar’s Durga Namdev.
Prior to this, Imphal took part in Bhopal’s Lokrang Mahotsav and now Bhopal is taking part in Imphal’s Sangai Mahotsav.
The “Festival of Oneness” is the title of the event.
Sangai is the state animal of Manipur, which is found only in Manipur and this festival has been organised in grand manner this year after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Indian government has been holding these events under the banner of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharata” Since October 31, 2016.
These initiatives would facilitate the development of social and cultural ties between Central India and the North-Eastern states of India.
