Bernard: MDA yet to disburse PMAY funds to its beneficiaries
Guwahati: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state wing has launched a full-scale attack against the MDA administration led by chief minister Conrad Sangma ahead of the Meghalaya assembly elections.
The BJP asserted that the state government had blocked all money intended for PMAY beneficiaries in the Garo Hills in its most recent attack following the Mukroh incident, which resulted in the deaths of five people.
Speaking to the media, Meghalaya BJP Vice President Bernard Marak claimed that according to his sources, someone in the government has been halting the PMAY funds because after the completion of these affordable homes, the government is required to place the logo with PM Modi’s picture. He further claimed that with the logo on the homes, people may be persuaded to vote for the saffron party and have an impact on the vote pool.
