DU Ragging Case: Anti-Ragging Committee Holds Meeting

Guwahati: The Dibrugarh University Anti-Ragging Committee meeting, an accused participant virtually testified to the committee in connection of the ragging case involving Anand Sarma.

According to reports, the high level committee meeting began at 11 am on Friday.

The name of the accused who provided the statement virtually was not disclosed by the committee.

According to the committee, five additional students will give testimony on Saturday regarding the matter.

The committee was unable to contact the accused while they were being held in custody because the prison staff would not let them speak with them.

The committee also heard testimony from the registrar, the warden, the professors and the security personnel.

Additionally, Prof. Jiten Hazarika, the university’s vice chancellor will make a statement in the evening.

The anti-ragging committee will submit its report on Saturday.
