G20 Sherpa Meeting To Begin Today At Udaipur

Guwahati: The G20 Sherpa meeting will start today with a panel discussion on advancing the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). On December 5-6, formal sherpa discussions will take place across five sessions.

India will present the overall priorities of all the Working Groups during these meetings and will also take input from the G20 nations, visitors and international organizations. There will also be an informal session with no set agenda where G20 Sherpas can converse freely.

Delegates were given a loud and enthusiastic welcome when they arrived in Udaipur for the first G20 Sherpa Meeting. They were greeted in accordance with traditional Indian culture, with children welcoming the guests and folk artists showcasing Rajasthani culture. The visitors arrived for the first G20 Sherpa Meeting, which would be presided over by the Indian Sherpa Amitabh Kant and take place from December 4–7.

The visitors will see an exhibition of Indian culture, tour Shilpgram Crafts Village, go on a full-day excursion to the Kumbalgarh fort and visit the Ranakpur Temple complex. Folk artists will showcase Rajasthani culture to domestic and international visitors to give them a taste of Rajasthani culture.

From December 4 to December 7, a variety of Rajasthani traditional shows will be conducted in the evenings. From December 4 to December 7, the Tourism Department will host a variety of cultural events in the evenings. Famous Langa Manganiyar folk performer Ghazi Khan will provide a vibrant performance at Hotel Leela’s Sheeshmahal on December 4 in the evening.

At Jagmandir Palace, a cultural event called “Colors of Rajasthan” will enthral the foreign visitors on the second day, December 5 in the evening.

 The city palace of Udaipur, Manak Chowk will host a display on diverse Indian art forms that evening. In the evening of December 7, the fourth day will feature a cultural presentation in Ranakpur.

On December 1, India formally took over the powerful group’s G20 Presidency for a year, during which time more than 200 meetings will take place in 55 different cities. An intergovernmental meeting of the world’s leading developed and emerging economies is known as the G20 or Group of 20. Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union make up this group.
