Weapons Recovered In Mizoram, 4 Held

Guwahati: A huge cache of arms, ammunition and other warlike stores have been seized by Security forces in Mizoram.

The seized arms, ammunition and other warlike stores have been recovered by the troopers of Assam Rifles from near Tuipang in Saiha district of Mizoram.

Based on specific input, Lunglei Battalion of the Assam Rifles along with the assistance of Mizoram police carried out the operation.

The security forces in Mizoram had received information that three Kenbo bikes were being used to smuggle weapons and other military supplies.

The three bikes were intercepted by security forces at Tuipang in the Siaha district of Mizoram as they attempted to elude a mobile vehicle check point.

Notably, four people from Myanmar have also been arrested in relation to the seizure.

The recovered items include: assault rifles, NX 200 antenna, .22 ammunition, .177 pellets, 12-gauge (70mm) cartridge, gun powder and Kenbo bikes.

Moreover, other items were recovered and seized including tactical vests, tactical gloves, combat uniforms and boots.
