Drugs Worth Rs 30 lakh Seized In Assam’s Tinsukia

Guwahati: In a major haul, a huge quantity of drugs has been seized by Assam Police from Tinsukia district on Saturday.

Acting on a tip off, a police team under the guidance of DSP Hiranya Bora, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Paragjyoti Budhagohai, and TSI Bhaskar Raj Barua carried out an operation at AT Road near ASTC Bus Stand of the district.

During the operation, police officials intercepted a night bus bearing registration number AS01JC6754 at around 5.30 AM.

Upon checking, a total of 60 Soap Box plastic containers containing 765.81 gram suspected Heroin was recovered.

Moreover, the suspected heroin was found concealed inside a cloth bag in the side Dicky of the bus.

The market value of the seized contraband drugs estimated at around Rs 30 lakh.

Meanwhile, four persons have also been taken into custody by police officials in connection to this.

It needs to be mentioned that four of the accused is currently being interrogated by the police.
