PM Narendra Modi to Launch Projects Worth Rs 75,000 Cr in Maharashtra Today

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit to Maharashtra on Sunday to dedicate and to officially inaugurate projects worth Rs 75,000 crores.

Phase-I of Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray will be launched by PM Modi. Nagpur and Shirdi are connected by the 520 km Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg.

The Samruddhi Mahamarg or Nagpur-Mumbai Super Communication Expressway project is a significant step in achieving the Prime Minister’s goal of better infrastructure and connectivity throughout the nation.

“The 701 Km expressway – being built at a cost of about Rs 55,000 crore – is one of India’s longest expressways, passing through Maharashtra’s 10 districts and prominent urban regions of Amravati, Aurangabad and Nashik. The expressway will also help improve the connectivity of adjoining 14 other districts, thus helping in the development of about 24 districts of the state including the regions of Vidarbha, Marathwada and North Maharashtra,” Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.

The Samruddhi Mahamarg will connect to the Delhi Mumbai Expressway, the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust, and tourist destinations like the Ajanta Ellora Caves, Shirdi, Verul, Lonar, etc., upholding the vision of the Prime Minister for integrated planning and coordinated implementation of infrastructure connectivity projects under PM Gati Shakti.

The construction of Samruddhi Mahamarg will fundamentally alter how Maharashtra’s economy develops.

The Prime Minister will dedicate “Nagpur Metro Phase I” to the country in yet another move that will revolutionise urban travel.

At the Khapri Metro Station, he will signal the departure of two metro trains: the Orange Line from Khapri to Automotive Square and the Aqua Line from Prajapati Nagar to Lokmanya Nagar.

Over Rs 8650 crore was spent on developing Nagpur Metro Phase I. Moreover, the Prime Minister will lay the cornerstone for Nagpur Metro Phase-II, which would cost more than Rs 6700 crore to build.

The dedication of AIIMS Nagpur to the nation would strengthen the Prime Minister’s commitment to improving the health infrastructure throughout the nation.

The Prime Minister will launch the Vande Bharat Express, which will travel between Nagpur and Bilaspur, from Nagpur Railway Station.

He will lay the cornerstone for the renovation of Nagpur Railway Station and Ajni Railway Station during the public event in Nagpur, which would cost approximately Rs 590 crore and Rs 360 crore, respectively.

The Government Maintenance Depot, Ajni (Nagpur), and the Kohli-Narkher Section of the Nagpur-Itarsi Third Line Project will be dedicated to the Nation by the Prime Minister. These projects each cost anywhere between Rs 110 crore and Rs 450 crore to develop.

The Prime Minister laid the cornerstone for the National Institute of One Health (NIO), Nagpur, as a step toward developing the nation’s infrastructure and capabilities under the “One Health” philosophy.

The “One Health” philosophy acknowledges the interdependence of human health, that of animals, and that of the environment. This method recognises that the majority of infectious diseases that impact people are zoonotic (transmitted from animal to human). The institute, which will engage and coordinate with all stakeholders and serve as a catalyst to advance research and capacity building in the “One Health” paradigm across the nation, will be constructed at a cost of more than Rs 110 crore.

The Prime Minister will lay the cornerstone for the project to clean up the river Nag at Nagpur.

The project, which is a part of the National River Conservation Plan (NRCP), will cost more than Rs 1925 crore to implement.

The Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET), Chandrapur, will be dedicated to the nation by the prime minister. The institute’s mission is to create skilled labour to satisfy the needs of the polymer and related industries.
