Guwahati: A number of Raijor Dal leaders staged agitations demanding for the construction of a medical college at Joysagar in Sivasagar district of Assam.
The demonstration was organised by the leaders in front of the Sivasagar Deputy Commissioners’ office on Monday.
According to reports, the state government declared that the medical college would be built in the Thowra constituency and that the first planning for the project had already started.
However, the Raijor Dal has demanded the medical college to be set up at near the District Civil Hospital in Joysagar instead of Thowra. They have also pleaded with the administration to put an end to the politics surrounding the creation of the medical college.
