Guwahati: A large amount of Methamphetamine tablets were seized by police in Mizoram on Monday.
Based on specific information, officials launched an operation and seized methamphetamine tablets from Chalbawiha Junction Khankawn Police Check Gate near Aizawl.
Upon checking, Methamphetamine tablets weighing nearly 20 kilograms were seized.
The drugs, also known as ‘party drug’ or ‘crystal meth’ is worth around Rs 60 crores in the local market.
Moreover, police arrested three people including the driver of the vehicle in connection with the seizure.
Those arrested were identified as Sanghalai Thanga, Lalthala Muna and Bhanla Longura.
Officials informed that the arrestees have been charged with smuggling of the drugs.
It needs to be noted that the police have launched an investigation to unearth further linkages.
