Guwahati: Assam and rest of the world celebrate the holy feast of Christmas Today.
Christmas trees, stars and bells have been tastefully placed in churches all around the state. People have already flocked to churches to pray to Jesus Christ so they are already getting ready for the celebrations.
The atmosphere was joyous as gospel musicians enthralled the revellers with renditions of “Jingle Bells,” “Oh Holy Night,” and “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.”
The capital of Assam Guwahati has also become engulfed in the holiday mood with santa hats dotting bustling markets all over the city and churches that have been attractively decorated.
The yearly holiday known as Christmas is observed by individuals from all different religious and cultural backgrounds.
It is a celebration honouring the birth of Jesus.
The winter solstice feast is regarded as the origin of the contemporary Christmas season since it was a time of renewal and regeneration in ancient Rome. As the holiday gained popularity over time the early Christians adopted a modified version of it to commemorate Jesus’ birth.
