CM of Manipur Inaugurates Bridge Over Iril River
Guwahati: A bridge over the Iril River at Nungoi Mapa built under the PMGSY scheme was officially inaugurated by Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Sunday.
A ceremonial celebration at the Litan Makhong Youth Club Ground of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Good Governance Day and the inauguration of Nungoi Bridge Over Iril River under PMGSY was also conducted .
The Chief Minister spoke at the event and discussed the advantages of programmes like “Go to Hills” and “Go to Village,” noting that they have assisted in identifying and meeting the needs of rural communities and interior hill districts.
In reference to the government’s paternal duty toward the more than 35 groups that make up the state, Singh stated that the government must take care of the needs of all communities in order to promote oneness and harmony among the populace.
“During the past term, the government had lost more than two and half years to the COVID Pandemic and another six-seven months this term due to the rains, however, with blessings from the people and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we were able to initiate development works in the State,” he said.
He explained that the purpose of the Good Governance Day, which is commemorated on the anniversary of the birth of former prime minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, is to work for the public and make the government serve the public.
The Chief Minister also mentioned a number of government welfare programmes including the old age pension programme, health benefit, etc. He noted that bringing the welfare benefits of these programmes to the public’s doorsteps is a component of effective governance.
The Chief Minister restated his earlier position of making Manipur a model State in the nation and expressed his satisfaction with the current council of ministers, whom he described as being competent, truthful, industrious and qualified.
The Chief Minister further emphasised that more than 100 projects would be inaugurated around the State during the upcoming government’s inaugural month and stated that the goal of the administration is to execute projects on schedule while maintaining strict quality control.
After the official opening of the state’s finished projects we will see noticeable improvements, he continued.
