Deer Carcass Found by Assam Forest Dept at Kaliabor

Guwahati: A deer carcass was found by the officials of the Assam Forest Department on Thursday morning in Kaliabor, lying near the National Highway road.

The cadaver was reportedly discovered on National Highway 37 in Baruah Chuk by the Jakhalabandha Zonal Forest Department, who then sent it for a postmortem examination.

It is thought that the deer was struck by a speeding car, and as a result, died from his wounds.

Several species of animals from Kaziranga National Park have established themselves at various locations around Kaliabor as of the year 2019.

Meanwhile, the Baruah Chuk region has documented numerous animal accidents-related deaths.

At the Kasojan tea estate in the Jorhat region, the carcass of an elephant calf was discovered last month.
The calf was discovered to have been about three months old when it passed away.
