PM Modi Announces Rs 2 Lakhs Ex-Gratia to Deceased’s Kin in Andhra Stampede
Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that each person injured in the stampede during Chandrababu Naidu’s roadshow in Andhra Pradesh would receive Rs. 50,000 and the family of the deceased would receive Rs. 2 lakhs ex gratia.
Condoling the death of seven Telegu Desam Party (TDP) workers, Office of the Prime Minister tweeted, “Pained by the mishap at a public meeting in Nellore, AP. Condolences to the bereaved families. May the injured recover soon. An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased and the injured would be given Rs. 50,000.”
As many as seven employees died on Wednesday night at the roadshow of former state chief minister Chadrababu Naidu in the Nellore district following a stampede-like situation.
During the public gathering held by Naidu, a scuffle broke out between party workers that lead to the incident.
Meanwhile, the injured personnel were transported to a hospital. Chandrababu Naidu cancelled his roadshow after the incident.
He left right away for the hospital in the Kandukura area where the injured party workers were being treated.
Naidu also declared that the families of the deceased would receive Rs. 10 lakh in financial aid as a result of the incident.
Furthermore, his Telugu Desam Party (TDP) would oversee the victims’ children’s education in NTR Trust educational institutions.
