Nagaland: NSCN-K (Khango) Removes Isak Sumi As General Secretary
Guwahati: Khango Konyak, the president of the NSCN-K (Khango) impeached Isak Sumi as general secretary of the organisation on the grounds that he had operated without the approval of the group’s collective leadership.
Sumi was found guilty of assuming “absolute powers and functions” without the approval of the faction’s collective leadership, according to a notification received on Thursday from Konyak.
In addition, he was accused of acting in flagrant violation of the “yezhabo” (constitution) and “discipline” by “non-distribution of authorities and responsibilities, nepotism and self-styled one-man government.”
He stated that Sumi’s impeachment took effect on January 4, 2023.
“Hence, he is discharged of all his power and duties and shall no longer be a part of GPRN/GPRN-K and the organization will not be responsible for any of his actions hereafter,” the notification added.
As one of the co-conveners of the working committee for the Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs), Sumi represented the NSCN-K (Khango) there.
