Three Arrested With Arms & Ammunition in Assam

Guwahati: In the Kamrup area of Assam, police officials arrested three people and confiscated a cache of weapons and ammunition.

Fazal Ali, Babli Hussain, and Anuwar Hussain have been identified as the three people that were arrested.

According to reports, the group was held on Thursday night during a joint operation by the Central Armed Police Force (CRPF) and the police as they attempted to rob someone of their money.

Police frisked the suspects and found more sharp objects, a 7.65mm pistol, and eight rounds of ammo.

According to Hitesh Ch Roy, the Kamrup district’s superintendent of police, a police team from the Rangia police station and the CRPF set up a Naka checking in the Rangia region in response to specific information.

“On suspicion, we intercepted two youths along with a motorcycle bearing registration number AS-01ES-6846 and when we conducted a body search, we found one 7.65mm pistol and eight rounds of ammunition. During interrogation, the apprehended youths confessed that a person named Anuwar Hussain of the Suntoli area called them to loot money from a person. Our team immediately rushed to the Suntoli area and apprehended Anuwar Hussain,” Roy said.

Further investigation is underway.
