Jailed Gangster in Karnataka called Nitin Gadkari’s office & threatened him
Guwahati: In a significant development in the investigation involving the threat calls made to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s office, Nagpur Police tracked down the caller on Saturday and discovered that the call came from an imprisoned gangster in Karnataka.
The threatening phone calls to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s office came from within the Belagavi jail, according to police, and the caller has been identified as incarcerated mobster Jayesh Kantha.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari received threats from behind bars. The caller is Jayesh Kantha, a known mobster and murder suspect who is imprisoned in Karnataka’s Belagavi prison. According to the Nagpur Commissioner of Police, he threatened Gadkari’s office by using the phone unlawfully inside the jail. He also stated that a team from the Nagpur Police has left for Belagavi to conduct additional investigation.
The accused’s seized diary has been returned by the jail administration.
The culprit is being held on production remand, according to Nagpur Police.
The office of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in Maharashtra received threat calls on Saturday, the Nagpur Police said.
The Nagpur Police later increased the security around Union minister Nitin Gadkari in reaction to the allegedly threatening calls.
The office received three calls from the BSNL network-registered number at 11.25, 11.32, and 12.32 at Gadkari’s office’s landline number, the police claim.
It said, “The call records are being retrieved.”
“There were three phone calls. The details are being found, and our crime branch will work on the CDR (Call Detail Record). An analysis is underway and the existing security has been increased. The security at the venue of the program of minister Gadkari has also beefed up,” Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rahul Madane said on Saturday.
