Heroin Seized Near India-Pak Border, 2 Arrested

Guwahati: Border Security Force (BSF) arrested two persons and recovered Rs 30 crores of heroins near the India-Pakistan border on Saturday night.

This was informed on Sunday by BSF.

Based on the information of the intelligence agency of the Border Security Force, two smugglers from the Punjab were apprehended near Sri Ganganagar on the night of January 14, 2023.

Three drone-dropped bags from Pakistan were found to contain six suspected heroin packets, totaling about 6 kg when the packaging is included. The cost of allegedly recovered heroin on the world market is 30 crores.

BSF troops launched Illu bombs while firing on the drone.

Two further smugglers who arrived from Punjab in a car are still being sought, but a vehicle with a Punjabi licence plate has been found.

Investigations into the retrieved suspected heroin, the automobile and the apprehended traffickers will proceed.
