President JP Nadda’s Tenure Extended Till June, 2024
Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, JP Nadda’s term as the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been extended till June next year, Union home minister Amit Shah announced on Tuesday.
It was rumoured before to the BJP National Executive meeting that Nadda, whose three-year term as the party’s leader (after he succeeded Amit Shah) is set to expire on January 20 of this year, would be granted another term in anticipation of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
Party representatives from four states with upcoming elections gave the senior leadership a ground report on Monday while the BJP was having its National Executive meeting in the capital.
Nadda on Monday stated that the party must triumph in all nine state elections this year before the 2024 general elections.
