Guwahati: As many as nine people were killed on Thursday after a car hit a truck head-on on the Mumbai-Goa highway including a child and three women.
According to police, the accident occurred around 5 am today near Mangaon on the highway.
The automobile was headed to Guhagar in the Ratnagiri area while the truck was headed to Mumbai. According to an NDTV report, the car’s severely damaged wreckage is evidence of how severe the collision was.
The dead include five men and three women. According to authorities, a child injured in the collision has been taken directly to the hospital.
The incident is being investigated and traffic on the motorway has started moving.
