Guwahati: In an unfortunate incident, one person was killed while 14 others were injured in a road accident in Karbi Anglong district of Assam on Sunday.
The incident occurred at a picnic spot at Longvoku in Manja of the district.
The tragedy took place when the vehicle they were travelling had brake failure and crashed.
One person on the vehicle died on the spot, while 14 other sustained injuries in the incident.
The deceased person was identified as Rakesh Kru.
It has emerged that the group was leaving from Morigaon in Assam and was en route to Manja for a picnic.
The body of the deceased was sent for post-mortem, while the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital where they are receiving treatment.
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
