Poll-bound Tripura Sees Seizure Of Yaba Tablets Worth Lakhs

Guwahati: The special surveillance team from Tripura’s Gomati and Sepahijala districts seized 2.50 lakh rupees and 10,000 Yaba tablets in ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.

According to a press release from the CEO’s office, the Election Commission has begun enforcing several laws across the state in order to guarantee free, fair, peaceful, and violence-free general elections to the Tripura Legislative Assembly in 2023.

“During Naka checking conducted by police personnel of Radha Kishorepur Police station at Chandrapur Naka point in Gomati District has recovered cash of Rs. 2.50 lakh from a car and special surveillance team of Sepahijala district seized 10,000 of Yaba tablets from a car at Kalamchara in Sepahijala district today. Further investigation regarding the case is going on”, it reads.
