Meghalaya TMC demands actions against NPP’s despotic attack
Guwahati: Trinamool Congress in Meghalaya on Meghalaya demanded that the National People’s Party (NPP) employees who attacked later’s workers in the Charbatapara of the Phulbari constituency in West Garo Hills, be punished.
”NPP, the ally of BJP, has attacked the fabric of democracy,” the TMC alleged in an official statement.
According to the TMC, the attack occurred at around 10.30 pm at the residence of Nozrul Hoque, a party worker, when NPP members destroyed the area where the party was holding a meeting.
“They (NPP) workers came in a group and started attacking and destroying my property, bamboo walls, tables, and chairs with logs and stones. They also pelted stones and bricks,” Hoque alleged.
He further stated that when his workers threw stones at TMC workers, injuring four of them, MDC of Shyamnagar Habibuz Zaman nicknamed Kasa halted near his home.
”Hoque is currently admitted to the Phulbari CHC Hospital undergoing treatment,” the statement added.
Nozim Hussain filed a FIR when a procession headed by Habibuz Zaman stopped in front of his house and threw stones inside, injuring 4 people.
According to the DEO’s investigation, a few TMC supporters struck Zaman and his followers’ Scorpio car as they were travelling through the area, which caused the altercation.
