Assam: 4,200 Yaba Tablets Seized In Hailakandi
Guwahati: Massive consignment of heroin has been seized by Assam Police in Hailakandi district of the state on Friday.
Based on specific input of a possible smuggling bid, sleuths of Hailakandi police carried out an anti-narcotics operation and recovered a large consignment of narcotic ‘Yaba tablets’
During the operation, a total of 4,200 narcotic tablets were seized by officials.
Moreover, two people have also been arrested in connection to the seizure.
The arrestees identified as Yuvraj Pandey and Jahid Hussain.
According to reports, they are thought to be residents of the area.
Police officials informed that the market price of the recovered tablets is worth around Rs 15 lakhs in the international drug markets.
Meanwhile, a legal proceeding has been initiated and an investigation to unearth further linkages is underway.
It needs to be mentioned that the suspects will be dealt with in accordance to the law.
