PM Modi: Meghalaya Lacks Development Despite Receiving Significant Funding From Center

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a gathering in Tura, Meghalaya claimed that despite the state having gotten a sizable budget in the previous years, no development has been able to help the common people.

Speaking at the rally the PM said, “Meghalaya received a heavy budget but now when I hear the people they said that no money has been used in road infrastructure or school/college nor hospital.”

“Where did the money go…youths are claiming job opportunities have been far to be seen… and wherever there are jobs there is corruption,” he added.

According to PM Modi, the state’s residents elected to elect the BJP to rule both the state and the federal government while keeping all of these factors in mind.

According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP party is always committed to the welfare and advancement of the northeastern tribal people.

Speaking at a rally in Tura, PM Modi said, “BJP government has always tried to promote the tribal culture and its music of the state.”

The PM also asserted that he informed the nation about Tirot Sing, one of the Khasi people’s chiefs in the early 19th century, and shared his knowledge with them.

“Earlier people used to think that cherry blossom is only famous in Japan but when I spoke about Meghalaya’s cherry blossom in “Mann ki Baat” people were surprised.”

On the otherhand, taking a jibe at the Congress party, PM Modi referred to the slogans by the Congress party and said, “People who are against BJP are chanting ‘Modi teri kabar khudegi, kabar khudegi’ but the voice of the people is saying ‘Modi tera kamal khilega,'”

The previous administration was accused by PM Modi for utilising Meghalaya as an ATM and neglecting to work for the state’s development. In the past nine years, he claimed, the BJP government in Meghalaya and the Northeast has brought about positive development. PM Modi further expressed his belief that the BJP will establish a powerful and populist administration in Meghalaya.
