Guwahati: Patients’ attendants, doctors targeted for cash, valuables at GMCH

Guwahati: A string of theft cases indicates gangs of thieves and conmen active in and around hospitals. Bikes, laptops and cash are among the most commonly stolen articles.

However, an incident of loot and robbery occurred at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Bhangagarh.

The accused robber who is identified as Chandan Roy is a resident of Noonmati.

Chandan is charged with robbing the GMCH patient attendants of several mobile phones and cash.

It has also come to light that, Chandan was freed from prison fifteen days before to the most recent robbery case he was involved in.

Moreover, Chandan participated in the theft with a gang of other crooks.

Chandan is now escaping on the run with the rest of them.
