Ranoj Pegu Calls HS Chemistry Paper Leak Reports Fake

Guwahati: Education minister of Assam Ranoj Pegu stated on Wednesday claims that the reports of chemistry exam question paper leak during the ongoing Higher Secondary examinations are completely untrue.

This comes after a number of reports on Tuesday suggested that the handwritten chemistry test question paper for high school had been leaked.

Reportedly, a photo of the leaked question paper was being circulated on social media.

The Assam cabinet minister for education has since intervened to refute the accusations, asserting that they are untrue. Ranoj Pegu added that he had personally investigated the reports of a chemistry exam paper leak and found them to be untrue.

Taking to Twitter, the Assam education minister wrote, “The news of chemistry question paper leak in the current HS examination is completely fake and baseless. I have personally checked the matter. We are taking utmost care and maintaining vigilance. Please don’t heed fake news and rumours.”

Regarding the chemistry question paper leak, Ranoj Pegu also released a press release from the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) which oversees the HS exams in Assam.

The release dated February 28 mentioned, “It has come to the notice of AHSEC about the reports on electronic media of chemistry question paper for the ongoing HS final exams in Assam getting leaked. The council pleads to students to refrain from entertaining such reports and put their entire focus on the remaining exams.”
