Assam: Businessman Robbed of ₹2.5 Lakh at Knife Point in Lakhimpur

Guwahati: A businessman was robbed up for 2.5 lakh and stolen at knifepoint in Lakhimpur’s Bihpuria on Wednesday night, around 8 o’clock.

The crime was committed by five people who are thought to have come by car and bicycle.

The incident took place near the Trinayan Temple at the Amguri locality in Bihpuria.  

The victim identfied as Sujit Paul reportedly owns a cosmetics company.

He was being pursued by a car and a two-wheeled vehicle as he was making his way back to Bihpuria after the weekly collection in the Laluk and Bangalmara localities.

The victim told the media that the robbers stopped his car by parking another four-wheeler in the centre of the street and fled with 2.5 lakh in cash.

Meanwhile, police have reached the spot and started investigation.
